Once a resident of the legendary apartment house Tokiwa-so
which gave birth to many notable cartoonists such as Osamu Tezuka,
Shinichi Suzuki is the only one who changed his career to that
of an animator after he saw Disney films. After working for some
time for Otogi Production run by Ryuichi Yokoyama who is a giant
in the field of comics, he founded Studio Zero with his cartoonist
friends. He is actively producing commercials, educational cartoons,
and self-produced animation films. His rhythmic and sharp animated
films rank at the top in the Japanese animation world.
1933 Born in Nagasaki city, Japan. In my junior high school
days, "Snow White"(W. Disney) charmed me with its beautiful
scene and took me to the world of animation.
1956 In June, joined the animation production OTOGI (coordinated
by a well-known cartoonist Ryuichi Yokoyama) and started my animation
activity. In OTOGI days, I engaged myself in many works as an
animator and assistant director.
1960 directed the sensational work "PLUS 5000 YEARS"
(9min.) . This shows the evolutional process in a huge time stream.
In other words, pictures are the final figure of "ameba"
in the future through Human Being's history.
1963 Founded a new animation production STUDIO ZERO with five
cartoonists and produced lots of animation series for the TV.
